Mild Chilli Blend Sauce
This sauce is not just an ordinary sauce - it’s a marinade, basting sauce, a dip, a dressing… it’s love
Let the oven do all the work for you, after it’s cooked there’s no limit on how to use.
No oven - no worries, simmer the sauce slowly in a saucepan.
Ingredients
1 Onion, finely chopped
3 Tbsp, heaped The Salty Greek Mild Chilli Blend
1/4 Cup, ketchup
1/4 Cup, BBQ sauce
2 Tbsp, apple cider vinegar*
1 Tbsp, wholegrain mustard*
1/4 Cup, honey (Vegan Option use agave)
1/4 Cup, maple syrup
Note
Replace wholegrain for Dijon mustard
Can use any vinegar of your choice
Recipe Steps
Combine all the sauce ingredients together and mix well.
Option One - Oven
Pre-heat oven 150-180
Add this sauce to approx 1kg of chopped roasting vegetables and/or protein.
Slow cook in the oven for approx 45 - 60 minutes or until cooked, you will notice the sauce darkening and caramelising. Recommend covering with foil half way.
Option Two - Stovetop
Combine all the sauce ingredients and low simmer in a medium saucepan for about 45 minutes.
Tip: If you have leftovers, cool down and store in refrigerator for up to 3 days.
